Resting in God’s veracity,
assent to the Truth is most key,
all our being longs to extol -
faith opens the door of the soul.

We can know beyond cognition,
believe by our own volition,
that His breath of Life makes us whole -  
faith opens the door of the soul.

Some turn from His waiting embrace;
God still finds a reason for grace,
and His Spirit seeks to console -
faith opens the door of the soul.

Resting in God’s veracity -
faith opens the door of the soul.

God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.   Ecclesiastes 3:11

God deposits light
in every human spirit,
sparks of truth and faith
in the image of Himself,
the gospel of creation.

Evident to all
God has made himself known.
On constant display,
His great works are clearly seen
in the wonder of the skies.
 
Stubborn hearts suppress
undeniable facts of
God’s divine nature.
In all vanity of mind
darkened souls restrain the truth.

Held captive within
the  freedom to keep sinning,
entertaining the
evil imaginations
that starve, then choke honesty.
 
We can fan the flame
or snuff it out with more doubt,
kindle the fire
or deny it oxygen.
Let your soul be warmed today.

while glory surrounds us in harmony

providence.

Betraying Jesus with a kiss,
Judas dared to call Him “Master”.
Preferring momentary gain,
treating the Lord with such disdain,
a soul flirting with disaster.
Running toward the serpent’s hiss
reaping keys to the dark abyss,
we bite the line of satan’s lure,
with hardened heart and calloused pain.
Destructions way just leads to death,
void of mercy, gasping for breath.

Our world is wrapped
in woeful night, a
depressing shade of death
aching for the morning sun.

Many sleeping souls
stagger
in the darkness of
deep longing for the Divine, blind
to the Light that
permeates the
four corners of the universe.

Eclipsed
by lack of faith, unaware
that the shroud of
twilight is no match
for the blazing radiance of
God’s presence.

Truth more convincing than
the black and white pages
of a theologian’s
commentary or
the heart rending
ruminations of a wise poet.

The doubter’s shadow is
my substance, the
unbeliever’s myth
is my manifestation.
The warm ambience of
God’s resplendent glory
is consuming the night.

Content to linger in Him,
intently listening to
His silence,

The death of wisdom
is this: presuming reason
can be imposed on God’s grace.

Wisdom is born when
we acknowledge God’s grace is
not burdened by man’s reason.

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Over a pounding pulse,
I hear the enemy
accusing me of being a fake,
of not living up to my Christian faith
condemning me with past wounds.
The words linger in my ears and on my soul
striking a chord with the ugly face of my old self,
echoing in a pit of noises.
Shame’s tempo chimes in
clanging to a new crescendo.
The clashing of
flesh
and Spirit.

In the midst of chaos, a still small voice
resonates a tone all its own.
God brings to remembrance
His unending love for me,
a sinner.
He knows I am His
although
I sometimes forget.
His mercy brings me to my knees
in repentance
and His sweet grace
washes me clean.
He is as faithful as always.

The great conductor of my life’s melody
calls me to focus
and in harmony
leads me in a new song,
with notes
already written
on my heart.
