For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
I’m free indeed, You’ve set me free
To live for You, God’s only Son
Believing Your good work’s begun
Please change me even one degree.
Above all else love is the key
Awakened like the rising sun
I’m free indeed, You’ve set me free
To live for You, God’s only Son.
Now here I am Lord God, send me
Your finished work won’t be undone
It’s by Your blood salvation’s won
So help my mind and heart agree
I’m free indeed, You’ve set me free.

“Please change me even one degree” is such a powerful line, Scotti. One degree can change water to steam. One degree can change solid to liquid. One degree can take you off course or set you on course. So, yes Lord, change me even one degree to be molded and set on the path to righteousness.
Bless you, Scotti.

I agree with David’s perception concerning one degree. What a difference just one degree can make! I really like the book of Galatians, especially chapter 2, verse 20. My kids have memorized it this year for Bible quizzing, which has helped me get more familiar with the book. Thanks for another great poem.
Blessings to you and your family,
Carol

The freedom we have in Christ is the most important thing for a Christian to realize in being an effective witness to the world! Good word, good realization, Scotti! : )

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. A complete liberty that doesn’t hinge on the elements of this world. Thanks. Also “Amen” to the above comments.
have a blessed evening in Jesus.

Beautiful poem Scotti, and thoughtful comments as well. As David said, one degree can make all the difference in the world. Our hope lies in believing that He who has started a good work in us will see it though to completion in Christ Jesus.
Blessings to one and all!~

Hi Scotti, I didn’t realize until just now that we both had a poem entitled “Freedom”. Praise the Lord! I wrote about being a prisoner with my dad in mind. I see him suffering so much. I was going to title poem with the word “Prisoner” or something similar. But then I thought no . . . I will focus on the awesome liberating power of the Lord Jesus Christ, so I named it “Freedom” instead.
Keep on writing your lovely and God honoring poetry.
Blessings,
Cathy
